Thuravoor
Mahakshethram, which is under administrative control of the
Travancore Devaswom Board, had once owned 700
acres of land. Though its landed property is now reduced to
just 7 acres, the temple continues to be one of the most affluent
and influential Devasthanams in Kerala.

|
At
the forefront of the temple activities and festivals is the
Thuravoor Mahakshethra Bhakhthaja Samithi. By raising and donating
money and gold worth lakhs of rupees, the Samithi has done
commendable work for the upkeep, expansion and restoration of the
temple. Among the major projects completed are: Copper-roofing
of the entire temple complex, augmenting the landed property of the
temple; renovating the buildings from time to time,
gold-plating both flagmasts, keeping the temple premises clean and
pristine, and participating in the development activities in various
ways.

|
|
In
all these endeavours, the innumerable devotees and the general
public have stood behind the Samithi like a rock of strength,
contributing generously in terms of money, matrerials and physical
effort.
